Kayaking

Experiences

Kayaking is an environmentally friendly way to explore the Danube Delta and a more and more popular one, as it allows access to wilder areas, inaccessible to other boats, and facilitates a closer approach for observing birds and animals, given the low noise level.

In Sfântu Gheorghe, Sulina, Jurilovca or Mila 23 one can find organizers of such trips, tailored to the experience level of each tourist. For example, at Sulina, the tours for beginners last about an hour and a half and are organized in "Bazinul Mic" (the small basin). On easy to medium level tours, lasting about 3-4 hours, tourists have the opportunity to explore the Musura Bay and the Cardon channel, returning to the starting point on Sulina arm.

The intermediate-level tours, that last about 6 hours, cross a few more channels around Sulina. On the two days tour, you also reach a wild beach from Sfântu Gheorghe. Long trips are also organized, such as the 5-day one, departing from Tulcea and arriving in Sulina, which crosses, among others, the Sireasa and Șontea channels and passes through the villages of Mila 23 and Letea, or the 10-day tour, that actually covers the entire Delta including Crișan, Caraorman or Sfântu Gheorghe.

Of course, the tours described above are only some examples but these can be customized according to the preferences. Upon request and depending on tourists’ experience, even tours to the sea can be organized.
